Eastern Football League young gun signs for 2017!

East Ringwood Young Gun Sam Lowson is the latest recruit for the Lions in 2017.

Lowson is a mid-sized forward from the Eastern Football League and led the goalkicking for the Roos with 25 goals from 18 matches. Making his debut late in 2014, Lowson has kicked 48 goals from 35 senior EFL matches.

A hard tacking forward who’s strength is his defensive pressure within his sides forward 50, Lowson was one of few effective forward targets for the Eastern Football League Division one side in season 2016.

Following two solid seasons with a high quality competition, Lowson is excited about the opportunity offered to him for season 2017.

“Probably more the opportunity and the professionalism, and seeing what I’ve got is why I’ve decided to give VFL a go,” said Lowson.

List & Recruiting Manager Sebastian Spagnuolo was pleased to have Lowson accept the opportunity offered to him for 2017.

“Sam comes to Coburg after two solid years of senior football in the First Division of the strong Eastern Football League.”

“A real strength of Sam’s game is his ability to apply fantastic pressure as a small forward which creates opportunities for himself or his teammates.”

“Sam will no doubt use his first year in the VFL system to prepare his body for the rigours of playing at a higher level, which is something that our player development programs really emphasize and focus on,” said Spagnuolo.

More signings will be announced in the coming days.
