Sam Lowson

Small forward who at 25 has never been more ready to take his chance at an AFL opportunity. His body is in great condition and when in full flight there hasn’t been a VFL or AFL listed player that has been able to lay a glove on him.  Arguably the most dynamic VFL listed small forward and against Collingwood in round 4 he showed that he could also use his excellent speed to go into stoppages and provide the Lions with some midfield speed.

Feature performance – 2 goals and 2 behinds from 9 disposals and with 3 tackles vs Geelong in round 6. His goals came from one forward 50 stoppage and the other was a long bomb from outside 50m.

Charlie Thompson

Joined the Lions from Richmond VFL and has shown in 2021 that the move has been a great one for him and Coburg.  Midfielder that has hit the scoreboard when forward and he’s a bull at a gate type player that loves the contest and provides great grunt and drive in Coburg’s midfield and as a high half forward.  Those at Coburg have been blown away by Charlie’s professionalism and selfless attitude.

Feature performance – round 4 vs Collingwood where he had 23 disposals and kicked 3 second half goals to help the team almost pull off a great win after being down by 38 points at ¾ time.
