Another talented Calder Cannon signs!

StillmanThe Coburg Football Club are delighted to announce that another Calder Cannon in Matthew Stillman has joined the club’s ranks for 2016.

A Greenvale junior, Matthew managed 37 games across two seasons at Highgate Reserve and was a member of Calder’s losing Grand Final side of 2014. In 2015 Matthew was named the winner of the Cannon’s Coaches award and finished equal fifth in the best and fairest with fellow Cannons team mate Josh Flower.

Matthew is a penetrating kick, has outstanding natural leadership credentials, is well liked and respected by his team mates and is a very good reader of the play. All of these attributes that Matthew boasts are seen as essential to the Coburg Football Club’s brand.

Club General Manager Craig Lees was delighted to secure the signature of another TAC Cup player from Calder. “Matthew has played regular TAC Cup footy in his two seasons in the system and it became clear that attaining his services was a priority for us. The signing also is an important one as it further strengthens our relationship with the Cannons and continues to demonstrate the opportunity that we have on offer.”

While Matthew joins a significant number of teammates from Calder he also joins the likes of Ozgur Uysal, Julian Hemala, Ricky Schraven, Matthew Huckstepp and fellow Cannon signing Josh Flower having played their junior football at Greenvale. We are delighted to have Matthew commit to us for the 2016 season.
