Big League Lions: AFL Round Eight

Find out how the eight former Lions performed in a big round 8 of AFL action this weekend!

🔴⚫️ Patrick Ambrose – 0 (senior) games and 0 goals for Coburg from 2010-11

Ambrose is currently sidelined after suffering a foot injury in a scratch match against Carlton in round four.

🦢 Robbie Fox – 26 games and 7 goals for Coburg in 2015-16

Fox continues to improve week on week, playing as a key defender and regularly giving up plenty of size to his opponent. He had another strong game in the Swans’ win over Hawthorn, finishing with 10 disposals, four rebound 50’s and a goal assist, all while going at 100% disposal efficiency.

🟡🟤 Michael Hartley – 33 games and 1 goals for Coburg from 2014-15

Hartley continues to push for senior selection after some strong scratch match form. He was named as an emergency on the weekend.

🔵 Callum Moore – 0 games, 0 goals for Coburg in 2020 (was signed for this season before joining Carlton as a SSP)

Moore made his club debut on Saturday, coming in as a late inclusion in the Blues’ win over North Melbourne.

🔴🔵🟡Reilly O’Brien – 2 games and 0 goals for Coburg in 2014

O’Brien found plenty of the ball on Sunday in the Crows tight loss to Essendon. He had 19 disposals and four clearances to go along with his 26 hitouts.

🦢 Ben Ronke – 2 games, 3 games for Coburg in 2016

Ronke continues to be sidelined due to stress related back injury, with a return still not likely for another six weeks.

🟣⚪️ Luke Ryan – 10 games and 0 goals for Coburg in 2016

Ryan played a solid game on star Geelong forward Tom Hawkins even though he ended up with three goals. Ryan also attacked from defence, ending with 23 disposals and a massive 15 rebound 50’s.

🔴⚫️ Adam Saad – 28 games and 10 goals for Coburg from 2012-14

As per usual, Saad was amongst Essendon’s leading ball winners in their win over the Crows. He finished with 19 disposals, using the ball well off of half-back.
