Coburg City Oval Redevelopment Funding Matched By Moreland City Council!

Coburg Football Club are pleased to announce that Moreland City Council will be matching the $3M State Labor Party redevelopment funding, after hosting the Andrews Government on Monday morning.
On the concourse of Coburg City Oval, the formalities begun with Moreland City Council CEO Nerina Di Lorenzo as the first speaker, followed by Minister for Sport John Eren, Member for Pascoe Vale Lizzie Blandthorn, and Mayor of Moreland Cr John Kavanagh.
The pavilion, change-rooms, kitchen, and kiosk will undergo improvements to provide first-class facilities for players and spectators, while a new multipurpose area and upgrades to outdoor areas will also be developed.
“Facilities such as Coburg City Oval are cornerstones of local communities, and we want to keep them to a high standard,” Minister for Sport John Eren said.
“Our latest budget invests almost half a billion dollars to ensure sport and active recreation are accessible for everyone.”
The Sports Minister acknowledged the Moreland City Council for their involvement in the project, partnering with Sport and Recreation Victoria to bring the Coburg City Oval to a greater standard.
Member for Pascoe Vale Lizzie Blandthorn, a key parliamentary member in pushing this request forward, also recognised Coburg General Manager Sebastian Spagnuolo and Coburg President Kevin Breen for putting over a year and a half’s worth of work into making this happen.
“This vital funding will help the clubs at Coburg City Oval train, compete and grow; it’s a win for local sportspeople and it’s a win for our community,” she said.
AFL Victoria and Cricket Victoria representatives were also in attendance, along with Coburg FC General Manager Sebastian Spagnuolo, Coburg FC President Kevin Breen and Coburg FIDA President Piero D’Elia.
