To our valued members,
This week the club has been advised that the full handover of the Piranha Park changerooms and facility will not be completed by the Moreland City Council until after the date of our first fixtured home game of 2021.
This news means that Coburg’s first VFL home game of 2021 will now be played at Highgate Recreation Reserve, Craigieburn instead of Piranha Park Coburg.
The day and time is still TBC but it’s on the weekend of 26th/27th June 2021.
Our members will still access the game for free upon showing their 2021 membership card at the gate and we want all of our members to turn up in numbers to make it a true Coburg FC home game environment and atmosphere.
In terms of the Piranha Park redevelopment, it’s very near completion and is looking spectacular, we truly can not wait to move back home and share it with our members.
The round 12 Coburg v Carlton VFL game will be able to be played at Piranha Park which is sure to be a great occasion as we play our first home game since 2019 and also the first in our new state of the art facility.
The weekend of 3rd/4th July will be extra special as it will also see our Women’s team play their first Piranha Park home game too.
We take this opportunity to thank the Calder Cannons and the AFL for helping us lock in Highgate Recreation Reserve at short notice and the Western Bulldogs for their flexibility and understanding with this venue change.
Also we’d like to acknowledge the great work that the Moreland City Council have done in managing the Piranha Park redevelopment which started in March 2020.
Let’s go Lions!
