Coburg has secured the services of young midfielder and small forward Harry Andronaco for the 2022 VFL season.

Andronaco played 13 matches for the Calder Cannons over the past two years in the NAB League and averaged 16 touches per match in 2021.

While the 18-year-old will primarily develop early on to play forward, Andronaco also has the ability to run through the midfield. In Round 2 of the NAB League this year he impressed with 23 disposals, four marks and four inside 50’s.

Andronaco said he can’t wait to get stuck into training and playing for Coburg.

“Words can’t really describe how excited I am, Coburg is such a great club with a lot of good people around. I can’t wait to get out on the track and work hard,” he said.

“I’m mostly looking forward to bringing my competitive edge into training and games. I’m excited about the opportunity to play my role for the team and do whatever it takes for us to be successful.”

Club General Manager Sebastian Spagnuolo said that Andronaco had impressed with the way he has been able to fit into the club.

“We have been blown away by Harry’s character and ability to jump into a VFL program like ours and just be himself and be really comfortable from day one,” he said.

“Harry is a player that if he misses out on a game with Coburg, he will still have the ability to play for the Calder Cannons as a 19 year old which will be great for his ongoing development due to the amount of NAB League football he’s missed in the past two years.”
