Injury update – April

As the Rounds progress the injuries begin to rack up. We went through our list to see who’s out and who’s in on the injury list.

Matthew Stillman is hopeful to make a return to football this week, after straining his hamstring in our round one clash against North Ballarat.

“At the time it was pretty disappointing, but I’m just putting in the hard yards…..its feeling good so hopefully I’m back playing this week” said the Ex Calder Captain

Both Liam Hunt and Michael Ercolano look certain to line up this week after receiving separate concussions injuries over the last two weeks, they will undergo testing to ensure they are right to play.

While Josh Cauchi joined in his first training session since round one and is also hopeful to make a return from a pre-season groin injury.

“It’s feeling alright, hopefully if I get through it all good I’ll be right to play this week” said a hopeful Cauchi.

Nick Robortella accompanied him with the main group at training for the first time since practice matches, where he discovered he had a bulging disc in his lower back , and looks not far off a return.

Key backs Sean Gregory (hamstring strain) and Cam Holdsworth (Groin strain) are set to miss another week on the sidelines as they recover.

Zack Wunhyn will  join them for the second consecutive week after he had his tooth knocked out during our Round 2 development game with Port Melbourne.

New recruit Adam Valeri is also set to miss this round of Development football with a hip flexor injury as Brandon Bailey will need to have scans on his dislocated shoulder to see if he is alright to return to football.
