With Christmas and the festive season fast approaching it appears that the big man in the big red suit has delivered an early present down the Piranha Park chimney.
Standing 208cms and 110kgs, Kyle Galloway is the latest new signing for the Lions and at 23 years of age is ready to go when the Lions return to pre-season training on January 15th 2020.
Recruited from Northcote Park where he had a dominant season in the Northern Football League, Galloway is also a former Sydney Swans listed ruckman when he was drafted from the Murray Bushrangers in 2015.
In 2017, Galloway was VFL listed with Werribee but a broken collarbone ended his season prematurely.
Upon receiving Galloways signature, Coburg FC General Manager Sebastian Spagnuolo explained “With Adam Swierzbiolek (entering 3rd year in the VFL) and Josh Hotchkin being a Coburg-Calder aligned player in 2020, we set out to add another genuine ruckman to the club’s list to improve our depth in the position but also for someone to compete for the number 1 ruck spot every week.”
“Kyle has completed the pre-Xmas block of the preseason with Collingwood VFL so from a fitness perspective he should be in a great position to hit the ground running in January with us.”
“Our recruiting team watched Kyle throughout the 2019 season with Northcote Park and it was noticeable that he not only has attributes that will should see him do well in the VFL, but also attributes that will appeal to AFL recruiters given the constant industry interest in big men.”
