Lions to pay tribute to success of the past

On June 9th 2019, in round 10 of the VFL season, Coburg will venture East on Bell St to Cramer St to take on the Northern Blues.
The game is already one that the Lions faithful look forward to each season but in 2019 it will take on even greater significance as the game will be dubbed a Heritage game.
Northern Blues will be doing away with their Carlton jumpers for the day and reverting back to the red of the old Preston Bullants who were great rivals of our club for many decades.  See the Northern Blues story here: http://northernbluesfc.com.au/?p=7189    For our fans and members, the red guernsey with the white bullant on the front will take them back to the more tribal days of the old VFA competition.
For Coburg fans, we too will be wearing a heritage guernsey which will see darker more navy blue base colour return, the guernsey will also pay tribute to our clubs VFA Premierships in 1926.27.28.1970, 1974, 1979, 1988 and 1989 and there’s no better time to pay tribute with the club holding it’s very own tribute night on July 12th this year.  Event details are here: https://www.facebook.com/events/2288251134793614/
So on June 9th 2019, get to Cramer St Preston for the latest installment of the Battle of Bell St and cheer on the Lions, the game starts at 1pm.
