Local League Lions: Round 14

A limited number of Lions continued to press claims for a spot at VFL level over the weekend.
Essendon District Football League
New signing Tye Browning again impressed for Cragieburn in its 48-point win over Westmeadows at DS Aitken Reserve.
 
Northern Football League
Jack Baker again fronted up for MacLeod in an upset win over Heidelberg at DeWinton Park.
Braedyn Gillard returned from injury for Montmorency, kicking a goal however went down at home against North Heidelberg.
Tyson Old managed a goal in Northcote Parks 19-point win over Bundoora at Yulong Reserve.
Matt Harman appeared for West Preston Lakeside on Sunday, however Greensborough were too good with a 62-point win at JE Moore Park.
 
Eastern Football League
Tom Meagher managed a goal in Upper Ferntree Gully’s big 64-point win over Wantirna South at Kings Park as they push for a finals spot.
Xavier Fry appeared for North Ringwood in the Under 19’s, in a 15-point loss to Rowville.
 
Ovens and Murray Football League
Will Donaghey was one of Wodonga Raiders better performers in its 99-point win over its fierce cross-town rivals in Wodonga Bulldogs. Donaghey kicked a goal to go with being named amongst Raiders best.
With a bye this weekend we expect a few more Lions to play at VFL level, however we look ahead to Vicki Cleary day on July 21 when we take on North Melbourne at 12:30pm.
