After the season came to a shuddering halt thanks again to forces out of our control, we resumed normal transmission this weekend, despite the well documented absence of spectators.
New signing Sam Clohesy played in Calder’s 15-point win over Western Jets at Highgate Reserve.
Ben Overman continued from where he left off; being named second best player for St.Bernards in their big 43-point win at home over Collegians. The win also keeps them in touching distance of finals but more importantly puts them 2 games clear of the relegation zone.
Athan Tsialtas and Dinny Cleary went head-to-head, as Tsialtas kicked 4 goals in Strathmore’s 32 point win over Avondale Heights at the Canning Street Reserve. Tsialtas takes his goalkicking tally to 23 goals for the season at local level, while Cleary continues his stellar form at EDFL level.
Tyson Old kicked two goals in Hurstbridge’s 51-point loss away to Montmorency.
Jackson Davies and Bailey Thompson fronted up for Bundoora in a big 58-point win over Greensborough at the Yulong Reserve. Thompson was named in the best, continuing his strong form at local level and also kicked 2 goals. Davies continued to play a key role for the Bulls.
Jhye Baddeley-Kelly continues to perform for Epping, however they went down at home by 49 points to Lower Plenty.
Liam Whelan again played for East Ringwood in a big 138-point win over Lilydale at home.
