Logan Morey becomes a Lion

Former Essendon VFL Listed player & Yarrawonga Best & Fairest Winner Logan Morey has joined the Lions, coming from EDFL Club Strathmore.
After a stunning season with O&M powerhouse Yarrawonga in 2016 that put him on the radar of VFL Clubs, Morey would join Geelong for preseason training, only to miss out on a spot due to injury. Joining Essendon VFL mid season, Morey managed one VFL game in 2017.
After joining Strathmore for 2018, Morey would make a superb start to the season with his new club, and now has another shot of VFL with the Lions & can’t wait to begin.
“I was fortunate enough last year to debut for Essendon VFL & get a taste of VFL Footy, but unfortunatley I didn’t get back on their list this year. So I’m thankful for the oppurtunity Coburg have given me to hopefully add some more VFL games to my tally & try and play the highest level possible.”
“I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into it & getting to know the boys and earn their respect. I’ve got a lot to learn, so I’m just looking forward to testing myself & hopefully playing VFL Footy as much as I can, said Morey.”
GM Seb Spagnuolo was pleased to have secured the defender, who is capable of playing on both tall & small forwards.
“We’ve been in contact on & off for the past three seasons starting when he was back in Yarrawonga & whilist he’d had some injury concerns, we’ve always confidently rated him as a community footballer that could make the jump to VFL Football.”
We’re excited that he’s now committed to our VFL program after some good form at Strathmore in the EDFL.
“For his age he’s an accomplished defender who is itching at the bit to take on AFL listed forwards in 2018.”
Welcome Logan to the club.
