Coburg will on Saturday return to Piranha Park for the first time in three weeks when it will host Sandringham.
The Lions have been okay for quarters at a time over the last couple of weeks but have struggled to put together a four quarter performance as has been the case for majority of the seasons.
Sandringham has been up & down all season as has been evidenced by its form over the past six rounds. They are 2-4 over that period with an average winning margin of 89 points but also an average losing margin of 60 points.
Coburg are yet to face the Zebras this season but will be eager to put in a good performance and come away with the win.
Tom Hickey has been in good form for the Zebras, therefore the return of Tom Goodwin will be crucial for Coburg in the middle. Marcus Lentini and Josh Weightman have been in good form and will benefit from Goodwin’s return in the ruck.
Brad Bernacki is also an addition to the side this week. Bernacki has been in good form for East Sunbury in the Essendon District Football League which has resulted in him being named for his VFL debut as the 23rd man. Mark Kovacevic and Mitch Podhajski make way for the two inclusions to this weeks team.
Coburg has struggled for goals in its past couple of games, kicking an average of 41 points in those matches. The Lions forward line will be hoping for more opportunities in front of goal after the inside 50s have been limited.
Peter McEvoy, Sam Lowson and Hish Kerbatieh will need to be in the forward 50 as Zebras defenders Hugh Goddard and Brandon White have been in good form, shutting down opposition forwards in recent weeks.
