Round 20 Preview: Coburg V Geelong

By JACK KOVACIC
Coburg will return to Piranha Park for the last time in 2018 on Saturday afternoon when it hosts Geelong in its last game of the season.
It has been a season of growth and development for this young Lions team who have come a long way since the start of this season. The team will be eager to finish the season on a positive note but will be against stiff competition in the Cats who have lost just one game since May.
Geelong last week comfortably defeated Essendon after knocking off second placed Richmond a week earlier. Tom Atkins and Wylie Buzza have both been in good form for the Cats and will likely again be key players this week.
Sam Lowson was on fire up forward for Coburg, equalling his career high of four goals and providing a dangerous target up forward and causing problems for defenders. He will need some help from fellow forwards such as Peter McEvoy and Jack Murphy who kicked a goal each last week.
Marcus Lentini will need to continue his good form in the midfield and his contribution was also felt on the scoreboard last week with the young midfielder kicking two goals. Nick Mellington also had one of his best games of the season last week and also was able to go forward and cause problems.
Geelong has been one of the highest scoring teams this year so Harry Nolan, Sean Gregory and Jesse Corigliano will have their work cut out for them in a defence that will be under the pump.
Captain and last weeks Lion of the Round, Tom Goodwin will also have his work cut out for him coming up against Zac Smith who has played good footy at both AFL and VFL level.
Jack Sandric, Mark Kovacevic, Tyson Lever and Billy Cannolo are all potential inclusions after being named on the extended bench. Billy Kanakis is the only confirmed out at this stage.
You can see Coburg in action for the last time of the year on Saturday with the first bounce at 12pm.
