Saad following in Brothers Footsteps in becoming a Lion

Coburg are delighted to announce the signing of Muhammad Saad from West Coburg.
Saad is the younger brother of 2014 Jim Sullivan Best & Fairest winner & Essendon’s Adam, and joins the club after spending the 2018 season with his home club, West Coburg where he managed 10 games for 7 goals in the EDFL’s Premier Division.
Previously, he had spent the 2017 season with the Gold Coast Suns NEAFL side, where he managed eight appearances, before returning home with brother Adam at the 2017 seasons end. Previously Saad played for the Calder Cannons in 2016, managing 23 goals from 17 games, including a match winning seven goal effort against the Oakleigh Chargers in trying conditions.
Saad joins former Suns NEAFL Teammates Brodie Foster & Harry Simington, along with former Cannons teammates Jackson McDonald, Tyson Lever, Billy Cannolo, Aidan Tilley & Mitch Podhajski at Piranha Park in 2019. Saad will play with Northern Football League Division One club Macleod when not selected for VFL duties.
Just like his older brother, Saad boasts outstanding levels of pace and is a good user of the ball by foot. GM Sebastian Spagnuolo was pleased to have Saad on board for the 2019 season.
“Mo took a little time to adjust to VFL training levels due to some minor injuries but we’ve liked what we’ve seen from him in the two trial games so far this preseason. A move to the backline has shown to be a positive move by our coaches who are encouraging Mo to take the game on and break lines with his speed and foot skills.”
“It’s great to have Mo on board for 2019 and as the younger brother of former Lion and now Bomber Adam, we welcome back the Saad family to our club,” Spagnuolo said.
