SEWFL ROUND 5 2021 PREVIEW- COBURG VS TYABB

By Joab Graybrook

Where and When:
Jackson Reserve, Coburg North
Sunday, 23rd of May, 12:00 pm

Last time they met:
Never played each other before

Coburg is coming off a strong victory against Mornington last Sunday beating them by 56 points in an impressive win away. Tyabb had a tough lost to Eastern Devils by 11 points in a clash under lights last Friday night. Both teams have won 2 games and lost 2 games sitting 4th and 5th on the ladder. Tyabb edge themselves just above due to percentage.

Players to watch:

Coburg-
Tanya Hendy #17

Tanya Hendy will again be one to watch after kicking 2 goals last week in the win against Mornington. Her dangerous forward craft will make her threating anytime the ball goes inside Coburg’s forward 50.

Tash Phipps #19

After staring last week and being named women’s lion of the round, Tash Phipps will want to bring similar effort to help Coburg again this week. She had 23 hit outs, 10 touches and 3 tackles which made her a dominant force around the ground.

Tyabb-

Karly Tapner #3
Karly Tapner has been one of the stars of the Tyabb team, often featuring in the best players and being amongst the goals. She will be a prominent force in the forward line.

Sharna Beazley #71
Another looming threat is that of Sharna Beazley who starred a couple of weeks ago in the big win when playing Mornington. She kicked 3 in the big win and a good performance by Coburg’s defenders will go a long way in being successful on Sunday.

Coburg members and supporters are encouraged to come down and watch as we hope to give another win in the season. Go Lions!
