With the club’s first “home” game for the season, Dinny Cleary and Ryan Sturgess will be welcomed into the side in our clash against Footscray on Saturday.
Dinny Cleary, son of Coburg Football Club legend Phil Cleary, will play this weekend in both his VFL & Coburg Lions debut! This is following his fantastic form for Avondale Heights where he’s the reigning senior B&F winner and EDFL league rising star winner in 2019. He’ll also be following in his brother Ruairi’s footsteps who played for Coburg in 2014-15.
This caps off a big week for Dinny who also celebrated his 23rd birthday earlier in the week.
Ryan Sturgess is also a big inclusion as he comes back from injury this week after missing the clash against North Melbourne last Saturday.
After debuting last week, Nathan Howard has been omitted from the Round 11 side and the Lions will also be without Jacob Ballard who will miss due to a hamstring injury.
The Lions will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing defeat last week at the hands of North Melbourne and you can be there to see all of the action.
The Victorian State Government has announced that crowds can return which will please the Lions faithful. Crowds are capped at 1000 so once that number is hit, the gates will be locked.
