TAC Cup Team of the Year Defender becomes a Lion!

Coburg are pleased to announce that 2018 TAC Cup Team of the Year Defender, Lucas Cavallaro will become a Lion for season 2019.
Cavallaro, who played his Junior Football with EDFL Clubs Hadfield & Strathmore, is a versatile defender who’s major strength is his run and carry from the backline.
Finishing fifth in the Robert Hyde Medal for the Cannons Best & Fairest, Cavallaro managed 17 games for Calder averaging 15.5 disposals and 5.8 Rebound 50’s per game. His best performance was late in the season against Dandenong Stingrays in a performance where he managed 25 disposals & seven marks in a disappointing loss.
Cavallaro links up with fellow Cannons Graduate Mitch Podhajski for season 2019.
GM Sebastian Spagnuolo was delighted with securing the highly rated defenders signature prior to Christmas.
“Lucas joins Mitch Podhajski as the first two Calder Cannons to join us for 2019. He’s a disciplined defender that has a booming left foot kick which will be put to use nicely on our big ground. We’re excited to continue Lucas’ Football Development and give him state league exposure.”
Cavallaro also joins previous new signings Brodie Foster & Braedyn Gillard as new players that have committed for both 2019 & 2020.
