THE BIG MAC IS NOW A BURGER WITH THE LOT

By Daniel Foley

Coburg has boosted its ruck stocks for 2021 with the signing of Macgregor Cameron.

The 204cm ruckman was in great form for the Monash Blues in the VAFA in 2021, winning the Zachariah Medal with 23 votes as the best and fairest player in the Premier C Men’s competition.

Cameron played 10 matches this year for Monash and was named in the best for seven of those games. Cameron also won Monash’s best and fairest in 2019.

The 25-year-old can also take strong contested grabs alongside his ruck work and has been on Sandringham’s VFL list for the past two years.

Cameron said he was really excited to be signing at Coburg.

“From what I’ve seen, everyone at the club seems fantastic and I’m keen to start training in a couple of weeks,” he said.

“Playing alongside the quality players the club has will be a lot of fun. The club also has great facilities which will be great throughout the year.”

“I’ll bring great energy and look to take some big marks around the ground.”

Coburg General Manager Sebastian Spagnuolo said Cameron has a real want to play football at the highest level.

“Mac is a determined and motivated, mature aged ruckman that provides us with another great ruck option” he said.

“In 2021 we suffered injuries at crucial times to our big men, so it was a clear focus for us to add additional ruck and key position depth to our list.”

“At 204cms and at 25 years of age, he’s ready to push for Coburg team selection immediately.”
