Tylah joins Coburg’s Bell Street Brigade

By Julia Montesano

The Coburg Football Club is excited to welcome former Sunbury Kangaroos midfielder, Tylah Bell to Piranha Park in 2021.

Bell joins Coburg’s inaugural senior women’s side with a wealth of footy accolades, having been named captain in the EDFL’s Team of the Year in 2019 as a ruck rover, following being named in that spot in 2018. Despite all these amazing achievements, Bell said her proudest football achievement was simply “playing with my close friends”. “We’ve always grown up together so I think being able to play with my good friends is nice,” she said.

As a dual ruck-rover in the EDFL’s Team of the Year, Bell is looking forward to continuing to apply her trade in that position in the AFL South Eastern Women’s competition in 2021.

“I usually play ruck rover and I don’t mind a sneaky slide up into the forward pocket,” she said. “I love to run and carry. I love getting in and under and helping out my teammates. I love using my voice. I’m out there all the time, directing.”

Despite only being at the club for a few weeks, Bell is already excited about what’s to come in 2021.

“I love the inclusiveness of the club,” she said. “I love the coaches and they all seem to have some really good expertise. All of the girls always rock up committed, they want to play, they want to train, which is nice.”
