Vale Jack Rogan.

Vale Jack Rogan.

It is with our deepest regrets that we mourn the loss of former club best and fairest winner and team of the century member Jack Rogan, aged 86.

Jack passed away over a week ago having suffered from a stroke.

Jack came to the club in 1947 and in that same season he was named the best first year player. The 1950 and 1952 seasons saw him named the best clubman. Over eight seasons with the lions, Jack would manage 145 games for a return of 289 goals. He retired in 1955.

Jack won the Coburg best and fairest in 1948, and represented the VFA in the Representative Carnival side in 1953. Awarded Life Membership of the club in 1960, Jack was also named in the clubs team of the century as an emergency.

Although Jack was never able to get to Coburg games for many years, he loved the club and would never forget his playing days at the City Oval. Following his playing days, he would continue as a club donor and supporter.
