Coburg defender Adam Saad has been selected by Gold Coast with the 25th pick in the 2014 AFL Rookie Draft.
Saad 20, played two seasons at Coburg including sharing in the Jim Sullivan Best and Fairest medal with Daniel Venditti this past season as well as being named on the back pocket in the VFL team of the year.
He hails from West Coburg in the EDFL, after spending time with the Calder Cannons, narrowly missing out on being selected in 2012.
A running defender, Saad possesses lightning pace and tremendous balance as well as a damaging left foot off half-back.
“Seeing my name is truly amazing, I can’t describe it.”
