Former Coburg footballer James Keogh, better known in music circles as Vance Joy has been announced as the Coburg Football Club’s number one ticket holder for 2015.
Keogh played with the club when it was known as the Coburg Tigers, spending two years on the list in 2008 and 2009.
Playing mainly as a key defender, he won the club’s Best First Year Player award, and was a leadership group member in 2009 before departing the club to focus on his music career.
As Vance Joy, Keogh has risen to become one of Australia’s leading musicians.
After releasing his debut EP God Loves You When You’re Dancing in March 2013, Keogh’s lead single ‘Riptide’ gained worldwide popularity, finishing at Number 1 in Triple J’s Hottest 100 of 2013.
In September of last year he released his debut album Dream Your Life Away.
The Coburg Football Club will continue their tradition of playing ‘Riptide’ at every home game as they did last season.
