Following his recall to the Calder Cannons as a nineteen year old, Mark managed seven AFL Victoria Development League games and two appearances in the senior side in 2015, as part of his agreement to be registered in the TAC Cup as an overage player. Mark’s best performances came against Port Melbourne where he was named best on ground amongst the coaches in round sixteen as well as the development sides preliminary final loss to Williamstown. In his two senior games, Mark competed against the likes of experienced AFL ruckmen in Mark Jamar, Jake Spencer and Dawson Simpson.

Mark managed 46 games in three seasons with Calder, which included the 2014 Grand Final loss. While Mark managed just nine TAC Cup games in 2015, he was named in the best twice. The previous two seasons saw him named amongst the coaches best eight and four times respectively, and in 2014 managed a respectable seventh place finish in the best and fairest. Mark also represented Vic Metro in 2015.

New Coburg List Manager Sebastian Spagnuolo said upon Mark signing with the club: “we’re extremely delighted to have Mark join us full time in 2016 after a year of split between Calder, Vic Metro and Coburg commitments in 2015. We feel that because Mark already knows our program, coaches, many of his team mates and club structures already, that Coburg under Peter German gives him the best chance to achieve his ambition of being drafted into the AFL.”

Mark joins plenty of past Calder Cannons team mates at Coburg, as well as fellow Calder graduates in Josh Flower and Matthew Stillman, who also played their junior football with Greenvale. We are delighted to continue to give Mark the opportunity to further his career with the Coburg Football Club.
