Lions sign Northern Knights key tall.
Connor Dalgleish is the latest TAC Cup graduate from the Northern Knights to have committed to Coburg for the 2016 season.
A Montmorency junior, Connor managed fourteen of the Knights seventeen matches in 2015, having returned to Preston City Oval as a nineteen year old. Connor managed four matches the previous season. His best game came against the Geelong Falcons, where he played a starring role, named best afield by his coaches having shut down dangerous key forward and draft prospect Brett Blair, restricting him to 6 possessions, 2 marks and 3.1 in the process.
Connor also managed one Development League match for the Northern Blues. As a result of his form down back throughout the 2015 season, Connor was awarded the Knights best defensive player award. He also joins former Northern Knights teammates consisting of Garrett McDonagh, Josh Iacobaccio, Liam Hunt, Michael Ercolano and Michael Mattingly.
List Manager Sebastian Spagnuolo was wrapped to have Connor commit to the clubs list for 2016. “Connor comes to Coburg as a player that will develop into a fine key position player for our club. He’s the latest TAC Cup Graduate to join the club and we feel he can provide great flexibility as either a key forward or defender.”
Recommended to the club by former club stalwart and club president Rob Evans (a family friend of Connors), we’re delighted to have Connor come on for the 2016 season and look forward to giving him his start to his VFL career.
