The Development Lions have recorded back-to-back wins, after defeating Williamstown by 51 points at Burbank Oval this morning.
In strong winds and dismal conditions, Coburg kicked 6-goals to 1 in the second term, holding their lead and ultimately finishing 14.15 (99) to 7.6 (48).
While the Seagulls went into the first break with an 8-point advantage, the rest of the day went the way of the Lions, who also won the hit-outs, clearances and inside-50 counts.
In the last term, desperate play from Williamstown kept the Lions on their feet, but composure meant the Burgers were able to get the ball out of their defensive-50, and towards the goals.
Going on to kick five consecutive majors, the Development boys had done enough to secure the win.
Cameron Holdsworth, stepping down from the Seniors, was arguably the Lions’ best; booting five goals and collecting 15 disposals.
James El Moussalli, Zak Wunhym and Ricky Schraven also continued their impressive form, managing 27, 26 and 24 touches respectively.
Other major ball-winners included Connor Byrne (24 disposals), Christian Burgess (21 disposals) and Jackson McDonald (20 disposals).
Now sitting on 2 wins and 1 loss, Development Lions will take on Sandringham next Sunday morning at home at Piranha Park.
Be there at 11am to support the boys in hopefully getting their third straight win.
