Coburg have selected their Round 5 team to take on Williamstown this Sunday at Piranha Park, which will see some more Lions potentially play their first Senior VFL games.
Adam Swierzbiolek, Josh Weightman and Brad Bernacki and Tyson Lever have all been named in the squad as possible debutantes, while Tom Wallis, Mitch Conn, Connor Byrne and Josh Iacobaccio look to be recalled after being named on the extended interchange.
East Ringwood recruit Adam Swierzbiolek played for Waverley Blues last year, but has spent majority of this season on the sidelines recovering from injury.
Josh Weightman is another East Ringwood recruit, and has been one of their standouts both in previous seasons and in recent weeks when playing locally; named best on ground two weeks in a row.
2017 Calder Cannons skipper and best and fairest runner-up Brad Bernacki found himself on the AFL Draft radar last year. Unlucky to be overlooked, he has put in some exciting performances during the past few weeks at East Sunbury.
After spending a year with Adelaide’s SANFL side and managing one Senior game for Coburg at the end of the 2016 season, Tyson Lever will potentially make his season debut on Sunday.
Jay O’Donoghue returns as the 23rd man, while Harry Nolan will start as centre half-back.
Skipper Tom Goodwin will miss one week due to suspension, and James Belo and Josh Guthrie have suffered mild injuries and will sit out during Sunday’s match.
