Last night the Coburg Football Club began its 2019 Preseason at Sir Douglas Nicholls Oval, in Thornbury.
With at least 50 players out on the track which included our current contracted players and many more young hopefuls, it would begin with the 2.2Km time trial which would give Senior Coach Leigh Adams & his Coaching Staff the best opportunity possible to begin making list decisions.
Among those to have stood out in the time trial included the likes of returning players including Lachie Watkins, Jesse Corigliano, Jack Sandric, Jake Page, Jackson McDonald & Jack Murphy.
The session also saw many new staff members, especially our new Sports Trainers partaking in their first training session with the Club.
We are also thankful for the Fitzroy Stars Football Club for allowing us the use & hospitality of Sir Douglas Nicholls Oval for our preseason campaign. As part of our affiliation between the two clubs, Fitzroy Stars have given us a fantastic opportunity for our training sessions to be held not only to keep us close to Coburg, but also to provide us with the crucial use of a ground only used for Football in order to further strengthen the partnership.
The Fitzroy Stars play in Division Two of the Northern Football League competition, and are based in the Aboriginal Community of Melbourne’s Northern Suburbs. To find out more about our affiliation with them, click HERE.
