Coburg’s 2019 VFL Fixture Released

The Coburg Football Club is pleased with its 2019 Hard Yakka/Totally Workwear VFL fixture which includes a televised Easter Sunday clash against Frankston, announced by AFL Victoria this week.
The Easter Sunday match will be on Sunday April 21 during round 3 of the competition, and is scheduled for a 2:10pm start at home.
The Lions will open their 2019 campaign against Collingwood at Piranha Park on Saturday April 6 at 2pm.
It will have a total of 10 home games next season; with seven of them scheduled on Sundays with a 12:30pm start.
After the season opener, Coburg’s remaining home games are against Frankston (round 3 on Easter Sunday), Port Melbourne (round 5), Williamstown (round 7), Sandringham (round 9), Casey (round 12), Essendon (round 14), North Melbourne (round 16), Werribee (round 18), and Footscray (round 21).
It will only have to play back-to-back away games once, against Northern Blues (Preston City Oval, Round 10) and Richmond (Holm Park Beaconsfield, Round 11).
Coburg will play its other away games against Werribee (round 2, Avalon Airport Oval), Box Hill (round 4, Box Hill City Oval), Geelong (round 8, GMHBA Stadium), Frankston (round 13, Skybus Stadium), Port Melbourne (round 16, Adcon Stadium) and Williamstown (round 19, Williamstown Football Ground).
Its round two match against Werribee will be Coburg’s only night game, scheduled to start at 7pm on Saturday April 13.
It will play fellow standalone clubs Werribee, Frankston, Port Melbourne, and Williamstown twice.
The Lions have three byes (round 6, round 15, and round 20), and will play a home match at Piranha Park the week after each bye.
Like this season, Coburg will have five six-day breaks in 2019.
Coburg will also participate in a number of themed rounds, including ANZAC Week against Box Hill in round 4 and NAIDOC Week against Port Melbourne in round 17.
