Where and when:

GMHBA stadium, Saturday 25thMay, 2pm Start.

Last time they met:

Round 20, 2018: Coburg defeated by Geelong, 7.6. 48 vs 20.9. 129

Geelong’s 29 scoring shots to Coburgs 13 highlights the dominant performance displaced back in round 20 last season. With Zac smith directing traffic in the ruck Geelong were too dominant through the middle for the Lions.

Forms in 2019

Coburg –

Lacking a 4 quarter effort all season, Coburg will be desperate to rise to the challenge of playing four consistent quarters this week.   Last week a poor 1stquarter set the tone for the day so the Lions will be out to start strongly on Saturday in our bid to come back from Geelong with the 4 points.

Geelong-

With only 2 wins so far in season 2019, Geelong have had an indifferent start. With no shortage of fire power in the squad led by Wylie Buzza, who has 10 goals in only 4 games this season. Geelong will have a point to prove and will look to make a statement ahead of their round 8 clash with Coburg.

Players to watch

Coburg –

Luke Bunker

With 27 disposals and nine tackles, Luke was a beast inside the midfield last week against a strong Williamstown outfit. His talents are shining through and look out for another big performance this week.

Lochie Dickson

Powerful in the midfield and consistency being his best attributes, could this be the last time we see Lochie take the park in a Coburg jumper? If so, let’s make it a good one.

Geelong –

Wylie Buzza

Comin off a 5 goal match winning performance against Collingwood last week, Buzza has his kicking boots on and will be dangerous again this coming Saturday.

Zac Smith

Dominant in the ruck last week with 48 hit outs and 21 disposals, Smith will look to impress again and potentially break into the senior side at Geelong.
