Local League Lions Round 13

Local League Lions Round 13
Plenty of our Lions continued to perform at local level over the weekend, pushing their case for VFL selection.
VAFA Premier Division
Luke Di Lizio appeared for St.Bernards on Saturday, however in a low-scoring encounter they couldn’t get the job done against Old Trinity at Daley Oval, losing by 12 points.
Essendon District Football League
Jonty Neaves, Jay O’Donoghue and Jack Sandric all represented Glenroy in their 71-point loss away to Keilor. Neaves managed a goal and Sandric tried hard all day, but ultimately it wasn’t enough against the ladder leaders.
Tye Browning was named amongst Craigieburn’s best in their 34-point loss to ladder leaders Tullamarine at Leo Dineen Reserve.
Eastern Football League
Tom Meagher once again was named best on ground for Upper Ferntree Gully in a 15-point win over East Ringwood away, getting them out of the relegation zone.
Northern Football League
Tyson Old and Aidan Tilley went up against each other for Northcote Park and West Preston-Lakeside respectively at the Bill Lawry Oval. Old managed to kick a goal, but Tilley’s 3 goal performance saw him named in the best and was a major factor in the Roosters’ 38-point win over the Cougars, bringing them into the competition’s top 5 for the first time this season.
Jack Baker appeared in MacLeod’s 51-point loss to rivals Greensborough away.
Ovens and Murray Football League
Will Donaghey kicked two goals for Wodonga Raiders, but it wasn’t enough as they went down at home to league ladder leaders Lavington.
Stay tuned for this weeks selection as we return to Piranha Park this Sunday to take on Essendon at 12:30pm, celebrating NAIDOC week.
