By Mathew Asciak

The Coburg Football Club is happy to announce the Ben Reddick has committed to the club for the 2022 VFL season.

Reddick, 21, had his 2021 season derailed when he suffered an ACL injury in May, but has shown positive signs in his recovery in recent weeks.  Since joining the Lions in 2019, Reddick has made 5 appearances, and will look to build on that total upon his return.

“The first goal would definitely be to get back playing VFL and be fit and healthy,” Reddick said.

The decision to sign on another year was an easy one for Reddick, citing the exceptional culture and foundations that were laid in 2021.  “I committed to Coburg because I think the club is in a really good position to compete and be successful in the future,” he explained. “The culture and people at the club are amazing and make it any enjoyable place to be around and made it a really easy to decision to accept Coburg’s offer to ply on in 2022,” Reddick said.

Senior coach Andrew Sturgess praised Reddick for the work he has done during his time thus far at Coburg.

“He has done a power of work over the past two seasons, he has worked very worked very hard building his base and is the best runner at the club,” Sturgess said. “He has handled the surgery incredibly well and has taken his first strides over the past week and we look forward to see him complete his rehab,” Sturgess explained.
