The Lions take to the field against opposition for the first time in 188 days on Saturday 25th February against rival standalone club the Northern Bullants at RMIT University’s football oval.
In the Bundoora based version of the Battle of Bell St, Coburg will run out with many new faces under the guidance of new Senior Coach Jamie Cassidy-McNamara and the day promises to be an exciting one.
The game will feature six 20 minute periods and as many as 47 players will represent Coburg at different stages of the game.
Coburg regulars from previous seasons Mitch Podhajski, Nathan Boucher, Harry Nolan, Braedyn Gillard, Flynn Gentile, Josh D’Intinosante and others will feature in the game which is also Jesse Corigliano’s first as the club’s official Captain for 2023.
New faces such as Max Kennedy, Hugo McGlashan, Liam Podhajski and others will take to the field for the first time in Coburg colours which should excite the Lions faithful.
The game begins at 11am and Coburg fans are encouraged to bring their own food, drink, camping chairs and shade/cover from either the sun or the rain as RMIT’s facility doesn’t provide those facilities.
