DEBUT FOR TWO IN ROUND THREE

Coburg has announced that two young Lions will make their VFL debuts for the club in the VFL game against the Greater Western Sydney Giants.

The round 3 hitout sees the Giants venture to Coburg for the first time since joining the VFL competition in 2021.

18 year old Nic Quigg who joined the club from Seymour and the Murray Bushrangers this season makes his debut for the club along with fellow debutant Ben Cameron, also 18.  Cameron joined Coburg from Kyneton and the Bendigo Pioneers this season.

Quigg and Cameron have replaced Tom Jepson and Alex Lukic from the round 2 team that took on Richmond.

Quigg and Cameron are the youngest and second youngest players on Coburg’s list in 2023.

Josh Watson, Trent Warren, Jhye Baddeley-Kelly and Jackson Bowne have all been added to the extended squad.

The Lions, coming off a 42 point loss in round 2 to Richmond, host the Giants who have 1 win and 1 loss from the opening two rounds of the 2023 season and in round 2 they defeated Carlton by 39 points.
