Coburg welcomes back two of it’s stars from injury plus a key defender will take to the field for
the first time in 2023.
The round 5 match sees the Lions head to Box Hill for the first time since 2019 and still
searching for it’s first win of 2023 following the round 4 loss to Williamstown.
Defender Tom McKenzie is back from a hamstring injury he sustained in round 1, Ryan
Sturgess makes his first appearance for 2023 following an injury he sustained in the preseason and he’s sure to provide our forward line with added fire power while versatile tall Trent Warren is back in the team for the first time of 2023 following some strong performances for Greenvale.
McKenzie, Sturgess and Warren replace Ben Cameron (suspended), Braden Andrews and George Belcher (injured).
Jonathan Marsh, Josh D’Intinosante and Tom Jepson join Braden Andrews as the four
emergencies as part of the squad.
The Lions, coming off a 54 point loss in round 4 to Williamstown, head to Box Hill who have won each of their three games in 2023 and in round 4 defeated Collingwood by 59 points.
All Coburg fans and members are needed at Box Hill City Oval on Saturday afternoon at
1.05pm to support the team and club!
Be at the ground from 12.30pm onwards to be there for the pregame and traditional Anzac ceremony.
Post game on the oval, the Gibbs-Lines Medal for best on ground will also be awarded.
