THREE CHANGES AGAINST THE DEMONS

By Bruno Visentini

Coburg have announced the side that will take on the reigning premiers Casey in the Round 18 clash this Saturday at Piranha Park. After having the bye last week, there are 3 changes from the previous match.

Coming into the side is the trio of Ryan Sturgess, Sam Mason and Harry Nolan, while the three making way for them are Josh D’Intinosante, Braden Andrews and Daniel Johnston.

The Lions come into the match off a bye last week after a 52-point defeat to Carlton two weeks ago. That game saw Coburg chain together 7 consecutive goals in the last quarter to cut down Carlton’s lead, a passage that would be nice to follow into this match.

The game marks Luke Nelson’s 50th VFL appearance, a great achievement for a player who has been extremely consistent over the course of this season.

Casey have made seven changes to their side, the most notable being Brodie Grundy who has been left out of the senior side to develop his forward craft for a second consecutive week. The Demons are also promoting Gippsland Power youngster Zane Duursma to the side for his second VFL game. The brother of Port Adelaide’s Xavier and Yasmin, Zane is projected to be a top-10 pick in the upcoming AFL draft.

The match between Coburg and Casey will start at 1:05 at Piranha Park in Coburg, and can be streamed on AFL.com.au or the AFL app. We hope to see as many of the Lions faithful in attendance. Go Lions!
