Coburg Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Nick Byrne as our new General Manager. Nick brings a wealth of experience across a number of different industries and roles, which provides us with a dedicated and community focused leader.
Nick Byrne’s extensive resume includes over 10 years in the AFL system with North Melbourne Football Club where he was involved in senior roles with the AFL talent acquisition and recruitment teams. In addition to this, Nick has worked in Commercial and Senior Management positions in technology and finance sectors. Nick’s diverse background and expertise in football, commercial growth and business development, make him a perfect fit for driving the club’s strategic vision and operational excellence both on and off field across our corporate and football streams.
Nick is familiar to our club and program and has supported the Men’s VFL team in the past 10 months as a consultant. Being a Coburg local for the past 20 years, Nick is community focused and is passionate about talent and development pathways in football and the future of Coburg FC and our area. We see his connection to Coburg a real benefit to engaging with community stakeholders and networks.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Jeremy Dickson for his dedication and hard work over the past 12 months since stepping into the Interim GM role after the departure of Sebastian Spagnuolo. Jeremy has been a steady hand at a time of need for the Club, and has been instrumental in navigating the club through a transformative period. We are pleased to announce that Jeremy will continue to contribute to our success as Director of Coaching for the VFL team.
Nick Byrne’s appointment marks a new chapter for the Coburg Football Club. His leadership, combined with Jeremy’s continued involvement, will undoubtedly steer the club towards achieving continued improvement, success and opportunities for all.
