It is with great pleasure that the Coburg Football Club are to announce its first signing from the Calder Cannons this off season in Mitch Conn.
Conn, who stands at 175 centimetres and 73 kilos, is a small defender who can also play on a wing and has been a mainstay of the Calder Cannons side in both of his two seasons in the TAC Cup. In 2014 he managed 12 games which included an appearance in Calder’s losing Grand Final side. In 2015 Conn managed 14 games, with his season ending early due to injury therefore missing the last few games which included the Cannons sole finals appearance for the season.
Originally from Sunbury, Mitch has also managed nine senior games across two seasons for the Ballarat Football League side when not on Cannons duty and has been named amongst the coaches’ best in eight of those matches. Mitch also was awarded the Cameron Baird VC MG Award for Calder’s ‘Most Courageous’ player in 2015.
Mitch joins a host of Calder Cannons teammates who he has already played his football with, in particular Aaron Christensen, who also played his junior football with Sunbury.
We are excited to have Mitch on board for 2016!
