Promising Blues youngster crosses Bell Street
One of the more promising youngsters in state league football in Victoria, the Coburg Football Club are delighted to announce that Garrett McDonagh has committed to the club for the 2016 season.
Garrett comes across after just one season with the Northern Blues, managing five senior games, however he did feature for Carlton in its intra-club match in the pre-season.
He came to the Blues via their TAC Cup affiliated side the Northern Knights after a 2014 season where he consistently managed to show his class and forged a reputation as a damaging rebounding defender with a powerful left foot kick, and was considered by some unlucky not to be drafted.
Usually comfortable in the back half of the ground, Garrett can also be used in the midfield, and can also sneak forward with effective impact. While also with the Knights, Garrett also established his leadership credentials, especially with his ability to organize his side’s backline, and being vocal around the ground.
The Coburg Football Club are excited to have Garrett on the clubs books for the 2016 season and are delighted to offer him the opportunity to play more senior football.
