The Coburg Football Club is proud to announce President Kevin Breen has been awarded VFL life membership for his services to football.
Having been a part of the club for over four decades, his span of achievements is one quite like no other.
Breen played 70 games for the Lions, booting 58 goals, and came 3rd in the Coburg’s 3rds best and fairest in 1971.
He was the Gillon Medal winner the following year, and won the Coburg’s 3rds B&F in the same year.
In 1973, Breen became a senior-listed player, and went on to become a Coburg FC VFA premiership player in 1974.
After spending two years playing for East Fremantle in WA, he returned to Coburg and played his 50thgame in 1978.
Breen was then on the move again, joining Werribee FC in 1980, but once again returned to Coburg as runner in the back-to-back VFA premierships side of 1988 and 1989.
In 1990 he was awarded Coburg FC life membership, and coached a total of 70 matches, consisting of both the 2nds team and the Senior team from 1992-1995.
In 2012, Breen joined the Coburg FC board as the club’s Football Director, and was awarded entry into the Coburg FC Hall of Fame in 2014.
He was then elected President in 2015, and continues to hold this role.
The Coburg Football Club is very proud of Kevin, and congratulates him and his family for this well-deserved recognition.
The club also thanks him for his long-standing contributions to the club.
