LIONS LOOK TO MAKE A SPLASH AGAINST DOLPHINS ON HOME DECK WITH SEWFL ROUND 8 TEAM SELECTION

By Daniel Atamian

Coburg is set to return to football on Sunday versus the Frankston Dolphins with the return of Danni-Jane Umaki and Ella Menzies, both are coming back into the side after having an extended stint on the side lines due their respective injuries and a delay to play due to the Covid outbreak.

The game marks the official club debut for Umaki following a shoulder injury she sustained in a preseason game earlier in the year. A strong bodied defender, Umaki will play a key role in solidifying an already strong defensive line for the Lions as they look to continue their impressive run.

Menzie makes her return to the game after last playing for the Lions against Frankston in an away game that saw the Lions come out triumphant and also side line Menzies after having her foot confined in a moonboot due to scans revealing she had sustained a fracture the week prior in the Lions Round One (1) game against St Kilda City.

Tara Chetcuti and Brianna Yelland have been omitted from the side as Jaime Nankiville also makes her way back into this weeks team along with Anna Morrow who was a late out against Tyabb after falling ill.

Sitting in the Top 4 of the South Eastern Women’s Football League (SEWFL) ladder and coming off back to back wins prior to the Covid break has the team sitting in the mix for a maiden finals berth with only percentage holding them out of 3rd place.

SEWFL Round 8 V Frankston:
