Alex Lukic has been elevated to Coburg FC’s senior list as an injury replacement player.
Key forward, Lukic replaces Sam McLarty who has been added to the long term injury list due to requiring shoulder surgery and rehab which will see him out for 3-4 months.
When Sam returns to playing, he will be re-added to Coburg FC’s list and Alex will return to the club’s train on list.
CEO Sebastian Spagnuolo said that Lukic had shown potenital over the pre-season and in practice matches.
“Alex joined our preseason in January and quickly impressed our coaches with his athleticism and ability to hit the scoreboard,” he said.
“He played in our practice match against Essendon in March and showed great signs of being a great prospect for us and even for the next level in the future. At 196cms, we see the change as a “like for like” in terms of position as a key position player. When not in Coburg’s team, Alex can play NAB League football with the Oakleigh Chargers or with Old Scotch in the VAFA.”
Spagnuolo added “Having Sam out for an extended period is definitely a setback and we will continue to work with Sam through the surgery and rehab process and can’t wait to see him return to the field later in the year.”
