It was a successful outing for the Lions keeping Frankston scoreless after quarter time to beat the Dolphins for the second time in the 2021 season. After a tight opening quarter that saw Coburg three points down at the first break, the side was able to switch into another gear to record a 60-point win, which stands as the senior women’s team’s largest ever win.
Sophie Damon dominated the match kicking four goals while Maddie Edwards, Dacia Abela and Mia Muscat were also among the best for Coburg.
Coburg’s development side meets Edithvale-Aspendale for the first time in Division 2.

Both Coburg teams started their seasons off with wins last week, the senior side had an impressive seven-point win over Seaford at Piranha Park while the development team took control of their match, keeping the opposition goalless for a 101-point win.
Frankston currently sit at the top of the ladder after Round 1 in the Premier Division, following a 12-point win over Tyabb last Sunday.
Edithvale-Aspendale suffered a 40-point loss to Pearcedale in their opening fixture of the SEWFL season.
Both Coburg sides will want to continue the strong start to the season with the senior side hoping to continue their unbeaten run against Frankston.
Following her best on ground performance for the development side last week, Hayley Baber comes into the senior side.
