Local League Lions Round 9

Many Lions continued to stake claims for VFL selection this weekend.

VAFA

Ben Overman and Harry Andronaco played for St.Bernard’s in their 25 point loss at home to Old Brighton. Andronaco kicked two goals.

Josh Watson played in Collegians’ four-point loss to Uni Blues at Melbourne University Oval.

Tom Jepson again was named in Old Carey’s best as they went down by 82 points away to Fitzroy. Dylan Thomas and Jono Marsh kicked a goal each.

Macgregor Cameron was once again named best on ground in Monash Blues’ narrow win over Old Mentonians at Keysborough.

EDFL

Continuing to build his match fitness, Corey Ellis was named in the best again as Keilor managed a 92-point win over Glenroy at Sewell Reserve. Ellis also managed a goal.

Down the road at Raeburn Reserve, Daniel Guccione managed three goals after being swung forward after half time, as Pascoe Vale had an upset win over the previously undefeated Aberfeldie.

Ben Reddick kicked a goal in Strathmore’s 101-point win over Essendon Doutta Stars at Nipper Jordan Oval.

In a low scoring encounter at Hillside Reserve, Bailey Ryan managed two goals and was amongst Hillside’s best as they defeated Moonee Valley by 21 points.

Northern FL

Nathan Howard continued to work hard in the ruck as Bundoora got up by 13 points over Northcote Park at the Bill Lawry Oval.

Eastern FL

Liam Whelan kicked five goals and was named best on ground for East Ringwood as they romped to an 87-point win over Wantirna South at home.

Goulburn Valley FL

Riley Mason managed a goal in Seymour’s big win over Shepparton United at home.
