SEWFL Team Selection – Round 10

By Mathew Asciak

The women’s development team will welcome Karingal to Jackson Reserve this Saturday after afternoon for their Round 10 encounter.  The Lions will be looking to secure the home and away double over Karingal, following their tightly contested 5-point victory in round 3.  A win for the Burgers will solidify their position for the race for the minor premiership, maintaining the two-game gap over this week’s visitors.

There will one omission from the squad that defeated Edithvale-Aspendale last week, with Anna Morrow slotting into the forward pocket in place of Ashlea Wilson. There will also be two additions to the bench, with Simone Craige and Briana Yelland joining the squad.  Pending availability, Isabella Hayes and Tylah Bell could also feature, adding further ammunition for the Lions midfield.

We can expect a another tightly contested match-up, with both teams in good form ahead of their clash.  Karingal easily accounted for Devon Meadows last Saturday, winning by an astounding 144 points.  The Lions had a comfortable win in their last hit-out, running out 40-point victors after a strong 2nd half, outscoring Aspendale seven goals to one.
