The Coburg Football Club is pleased to be able to share with it’s members, supporters, players
and family members the 2023 Smithy’s VFL fixture.
Rounds 1-14 of the fixture are completely locked in with opposition, dates and times finalised.
Rounds 15-22 of the VFL season have known opponents but dates and times of games will be
announced once the AFL announces the final 6 rounds of the 2023 AFL season.
Coburg opens it’s 2023 Home and Away season with a trip to Victoria Park to play against
Collingwood’s VFL team.
Round 2 sees football return to Piranha Park for the first time in 2023 with the Lions taking on
Richmond in what should attract a bumper crowd on Saturday 1st April.
GWS will play at Piranha Park for the first time in round 3.
Round 4 and 5 are both away games, firstly a trip to Williamstown and then in round 5 we see
the return of the traditional Anzac weekend clash between Coburg and Box Hill on Saturday
22nd April at Box Hill City Oval.
In round 6, Coburg hosts Geelong at Piranha Park on Sunday 30th April, the game starts at
12pm and will feature on channel 7 too.
Following our first bye in round 7, round 8 sees the return to Piranha Park of the historic “Battle
of Bell St” when the Northern Bullants are welcomed to Coburg.
In round 9, the “Lions Derby” takes centre stage when Coburg once again travels to Brisbane to
play against their VFL team at their new home in Springfield.
Round 10 away to Sandringham at Moorrabbin and round 11 at home to Werribee will see us
through to our 2nd bye in round 12.
Following the round 12 bye, we play North Melbourne (home), Southport (away), Footscray
(away), Carlton (home) through rounds 13-16 and in round 17 we have our 3rd bye for the
season.
To close out the home and away season we face Casey (home), Port Melbourne (away), have
our 4th bye, Frankston (home) and Essendon (away) through rounds 18-22.
Whether home or away, we look forward to seeing you at the footy to support our Lions in 2023!
The club is also working tirelessly putting together it’s 2023 events schedule and once finalised that will be communicated to club members too.
