The Coburg Football Club wishes to advise club members and supporters of the news that Senior Women’s Coach Tom Chitsos has stood down from the Senior Coach role due to accepting a role within the VFLW.
Tom joined Coburg Football Club in the 2022 pre season as midfield coach and assistant to inaugural coach, Liam Cavanagh before taking the reigns as Senior Coach ahead of the 2023 season.
Whilst we are disappointed to lose a coach of his calibre, we are excited that he is able to take this next step in his career and are extremely proud to have played a role in his coaching journey.
We pride ourself on being the club of opportunity and this once again affirms to us that is the case.
When reflecting on his time at Coburg Football Club, Tom said “Coburg is all I’ve known for the last two years and I have loved every minute of it, as an assistant in 2022 and then the honour of senior coach in 2023.
It is a very strange feeling knowing I’m not going to be apart of it next year in an official capacity, I have a lot of love and care for this program and I can’t explain how grateful I am for the opportunity I have had here at Coburg Football Club.”
The Coburg Football Club extend their gratitude to Tom for his contribution to the women’s program and wish him nothing but the best for his future within coaching.
The club has commenced the process of appointing a new women’s senior coach.
