Cats Pounce on Lions

A 9-goal to 2-goal second half has hurt the Coburg Seniors this afternoon in their Round 11 clash against Geelong, going down by 85 points at Simonds Stadium.
With a home-ground advantage, the Cats were in control for majority of the game and the Lions struggled to stop them, the final scores 6.5 (41) to 19.12 (126).
Off to a slow start, it took Coburg around 20 minutes to get their first major score on the board through an Aidan Tilley goal.
Geelong on the other hand had already kicked six straight.
The second term showed some more promising signs for Coburg, playing at a higher intensity and pressure despite still trailing by 41 points.
A debut Senior VFL goal to Rhys Free was a highlight of the third quarter, with Coburg unable to add any majors in the final term.
Liam Hunt was on fire, recording 48 possessions, one goal and 14 clearances, followed by el Moussalli with 33 and Luke Bunker with 25.
Next week will see Coburg go up against Werribee at Piranha Park, so come down for the first bounce at 2pm to get behind the Burgers.
Hear the Lions Roar!
