Quite a few Lions continued to push their cases for VFL selection with strong performances over the weekend.
NAB League
Harry Andronaco lined up for the Cannons as they took on the Oakleigh Chargers at Highgate Reserve. Once again it turned out to be a tough day for Calder losing by 53 points, Andronaco managed 11 disposals and a goal.
VAFA
Ben Overman returned from injury to line-up for St.Bernards as they scored a big 60-point win over Old Trinity at home, with Overman being named amongst St.Bernards best and kicking two goals.
Josh Watson managed two goals in Collegians’ big 49-point win at home over Old Scotch.
Alex Lukic kicked six goals in the Premier Reserves for Old Scotch as they had a 102-point win over Collegians.
Tom Jepson played in Old Carey’s 101-point loss at home to Old Haileyburians.
Macgregor Cameron once again was named in the best in Monash Blues big win away to Preston.
EDFL
Daniel Guccione played in Pascoe Vale’s 55-point win over Essendon Doutta Stars at Raeburn Reserve.
Aaron Clarke played for Avondale Heights on ANZAC Day against Aberfeldie at Canning Reserve where he managed five goals once again, however they lost to Abers by 13-points. Clarke was also named in the best.
Bailey Ryan played for Hillside in their loss at home to Tullamarine.
Eastern FL
Liam Whelan played in East Ringwood’s 13-point win away to Croydon.
Goulburn Valley FL
Riley Mason was again named in the best and kicked two goals as Seymour went down to Euroa by 28 points, at Euroa.
